Dianne M. Wagner Obituary
Dianne M. Wagner, 86 of Jefferson, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at her home with her family at her bedside.
Dianne was born on May 8, 1938, in Ixonia, WI, the daughter of Franklin and Melinda (Wittnebel) Wegner. She graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1956 and married John Wagner on October 25, 1958, at Cross Lutheran Church in Ixonia, WI. The couple had 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren! Dianne worked at Nasco in Fort Atkinson, and as a teacher’s aide at St. John’s Lutheran School’s – Little Lambs, a job she really enjoyed. She loved children and looked for ways to guide the young lives entrusted to her care. She enjoyed trips up north. Her faith and family were the two driving forces in Dianne’s life. Dianne especially enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School at her church, and nothing brought her more joy than to be able to share God’s Word with the little children. She served her Lord and Savior, not only at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church and School, but in her daily life by serving others, loving her family, and living a Christ-like example. Grand and great-grandchildren’s sporting events are where Dianne wanted to be. She will be missed dearly by the people that knew her, but her presence will be especially missed at the ballfield.
Dianne is survived by: her husband of 66 years John Wagner of Jefferson; children Timothy (Denise) Wagner, Joey (Rhonda) Wagner, Paul (Patty) Wagner, and Tricia Wagner all of Jefferson; grandchildren Ryan (Ashley), Travis (Kelsey), Marcus (Marin Koch), Kristin (Nate Wayne), Brady (Ronie), Morgan (Josh), Chris, and Hailey (Mark); great-grandchildren Mariah, Bentley, Beckett, Fiona, Howie, Hadleigh, Jallen, J.J., Trinity, Briar, and Jackson; siblings Franklin (Doris) Wegner of Watertown and Caroline (Ray) Weimer of Tucson, AZ;. She is also survived by a number of other family members and friends.
Grandma Dianne will be especially missed by Jabari (family dog) as each morning she would enjoy sitting in her recliner, drinking her coffee and cuddling with Jabari snuggled right by her side.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, daughter-in-law Sarah Wagner, and siblings Erline Wegner, Mildred Kopfer, Ardell Pfeifer, Darlene Wegner, Milton Wegner, and Hubert Bergman.
Special thanks to Kathy Wagner (“guardian angel”) and Barb Butler for their care during Dianne’s health journey, as well as the staff of Rainbow Community Care.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dianne’s name to the St. John’s Ev. Lutheran School project, “Forward in Faith – Gymnasium” or Rainbow Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00PM on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Jefferson with Rev. Joshua Martin presiding. Visitation will be on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the time of service at the church. She will be laid to rest at Christberg Cemetery following the funeral.
