David J. Olszak, 72 of Jefferson, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at his home.

David was born on July 3, 1952, in Hartford, WI, the son of George and Eilene (Schwartz) Olszak.  He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1972 and married Karen Hesse on June 19, 1982.  The couple had two daughters.   David worked as an industrial welder since his high school days, a job although very physical, one he enjoyed thoroughly.  In years past, David was an avid bowler, and it was a sport he excelled in.  David was known for his love of the Minnesota Viking Football team.  He was a hard-worker and family man who was loved dearly.

David survived by: his by his wife of 42 years Karen Olszak of Jefferson; daughters Jenny (John) Flahive of Johnson Creek and Crystal (Floyd) Johnson of Fort Atkinson; grandchildren Dylan and Piper; brother Donald (Sandy) Olszak of Jefferson; and nephews Andy Olszak and Aaron Olszak.  He is also survived by other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother Helen Olszak, George’s second wife.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest at Glenview Memorial Garden of Ixonia.
