Danny K. "Dano" Burdick

Danny K. “Dano” Burdick, 68 of McFarland, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Agrace Hospice of Fitchburg.

Dan was born October 4, 1953, in Madison, WI, and grew up in a family of eleven. He attended school in the area and in the early 1970’s, he married Karen Kipila. Although they later separated, Karen and Dan shared a special friendship for the rest of their lives. A long-time resident of McFarland, WI, he worked for the Green Lantern Restaurant for over 30 years. Dan was a life force to all those who knew him, and his favorite past time was to entertain friends and family. He loved to make people laugh with his jokes and was also a published poet and songwriter. Dan was loved more than words can say, and he will be dearly missed.

Dan is survived by: his children Michael Burdick of McFarland, Melody (Scott) Ottman of Cottage Grove, Patricia Horan of Monona, Ashley Burdick of Madison, and Matthew Burdick of Madison; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter on the way; 7 siblings; former spouse Karen Burdick; and special friend Kate. Dan is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Curt and Dennis, and sister Pat.

Per Dan’s wishes, there will be no formal services. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the Green Lantern Restaurant, located at 4412 Siggelkow Rd, McFarland, WI.
