Daniel Sullivan Obituary

Daniel C. “Dday” Sullivan, 67 of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Rainbow Hospice Center of Johnson Creek.

Dan was born on June 6, 1955, in Sparta, WI, the son of Charles and Erma (Ewing) Sullivan.  He graduated from Sparta High School in 1973 and married Pamela Schultz in October 1991 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Jefferson.  The couple had the now famous, Madison-based band, Garbage play their wedding reception.  Dan and Pam met sharing a taxicab in La Crosse, WI on Valentine’s Day, 1986 while Pam was headed home from a date with another guy.  While in conversation, Dan shared his love of music and Pam soon became a fan.  Dan’s singing voice had a “Joe Crocker” sound and he played the acoustic guitar beautifully.  Music wasn’t just a hobby, but Dan worked in the business, doing show set up and general roadie work - always appreciating smaller venues.  Cars were passion.  He owned a 1948 Plymouth, a ’55 Chevy, an obnoxious Baja Bug, a ’73 Corvette, multiple Buick Reatta’s, and a ’70, ’72, and ’73 Dodge Challengers.  When the couple lived in La Jolla, CA, (one the richest zip codes in the US) they were the “poor people” in town, but drove cool cars.  He loved building model cars also, completing over 1000 projects with hundreds more in boxes waiting to be built.  Dan loved rock ‘n roll and blues music, and his loyalty to the ones he cared for was deeply appreciated.  He will be dearly missed.

Dan is survived by his wife of 32 years Pam Sullivan of Watertown, mother-in-law JoAnne Schultz of Jefferson, brother-in-law Paul (Rachel) Schultz of Jefferson and their sons Ryan and Noah, a number of other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jane, and father-in-law James Schultz.
