Cindy K. Pohren

Cindy K. Pohren, 65 of Jefferson, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center of Johnson Creek.

Cindy was born on March 14, 1956 in in Des Moines, IA, to birth parents John Fick and Colleen Banks.  At the age of 3, she was adopted by Glenn and Carla McKean and raised in Missouri Valley, IA.  She graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1974.  She continued her education by attending classes and earning a CNA certificate, working as such at London Lodge of Cambridge and Wellington Meadows of Fort Atkinson.  On August 11, 2003, she married Bryan Pohren at the Jefferson County Court House.  The couple loved spending time with family on Blackhawk Island, fishing for catfish (with a cane pole) and camping.  She was a talented cook and loved baking during the holidays.  Playing bingo with her daughters and trips to the casino were always looked forward to and she never left a gas station without buying a scratch-off ticket. Cindy was a collector of cookie jars, rare salt and pepper shakers, and porcelain dolls.  Above all other interests, Cindy cherished time with her family, friends, and her beloved cat, Sassy.  She will be missed.

She is survived by: her husband Bryan Pohren of Jefferson; children Danyell (Erick) Cobos of Jefferson, Dannie (Shauna Ulrich-Stanton) Stanton of Janesville, and Crystal (Albino Reyes) Stanton of Jefferson; 14 grandchildren; siblings Rick (Noy) McKean of Wyoming, Tim (Maria) McKean of Nebraska, Kim Burkman of Nebraska, and Tom (Pon) McKean of New Mexico; brother-in-law Scott (Cheryl) Pohren of Johnson Creek; and special friends Tammy McCallister of Michigan, Lori Wakefield of Edgerton, Gail Koeppen of Janesville and Nancy Schmit of Orfordville.  Cindy is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, sister Peggy McKean-Anderson, and other family members.

A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Klub Bub in Milton (46 Merchant Row Milton, WI).
