Obituary
Christine C. Ernst, 70 of Watertown, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center of Johnson Creek.
Chris was born on December 19, 1952, in Oconomowoc, WI, the daughter Edgar and Delores (Erato) Ernst. She graduated from Oconomowoc High School and worked at various places throughout the area. Chris was an avid reader and enjoyed growing spider plants and donating them to St. Vincent de Paul. She watched crime shows religiously and made many homecooked meals for the neighbors. She was a fun lady who cared deeply for the people she loved and for those in need. She was generous and donated her time, talents, and resources often. Her grandchildren were of the utmost importance and Chris loved to take them on outings. Her service to others and caring spirit were appreciated by those who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by: her children Brian (Kelly) Smith of Waukesha, Erica Sleik of Oconomowoc, and Justin (Felicia Wewasson) Smith of Minocqua; 11 grandchildren Briana, Kayla, Destiny, Amber (Daniel), Jacob, Taylor, Austin, Noah, Ceara, Jameson, and Evelynn; 1 great-granddaughter Tatum; sister Mary Ernst of St. Paul, MN; and Michael Dunning of Oconomowoc. Chris is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.
Chris is preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Judith Scholler and Michelle Ernst.
A celebration of Chris’s life will be held in the summer of 2023.
