Brandon K. Hertel, 27 of Whitewater, died as a result of an automobile accident on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

He was born on September 1, 1997, in Watertown, WI, the son of Gerhardt and Lori (Martinson) Hertel.  Brandon was a 2015 graduate of Jefferson High School and recently was employed at Felton Appliance in Jefferson as a salesperson.  He also worked alongside his family at the Burger Corner since the age of 15 and one day, his dream was to own a food truck.  He loved following the Green Bay Packers and had an interest in computers, especially computer gaming.  He was an avid kayaker and enjoyed being on the river with his longtime girlfriend Rhiannon Kyle, seeing the sights and reaping the health benefits.  He was committed to his health and went to the gym religiously.  Brandon will be remembered for his compassion, care for others, generosity, and love.  These character qualities were recognized by his friends, as Brandon was honored to be godparent to 3 children. He cared deeply for Amara and Levi, and Sophia.   He will be deeply missed by those who knew him.

Brandon is survived by: his maternal grandfather Gary Martinson of Jefferson; parents Gary and Lori Hertel of Jefferson; sister Korina Hertel of Jefferson; girlfriend Rhiannon Kyle of Whitewater; and his aunts, uncles, other family members, many friends, and his cat “Mr. Bowser”.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Leo and Karen Hertel and his maternal grandmother Maryann Martinson, as well as other family members.

A celebration of Brandon’s life will be held at 7:00PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00PM until the time of service at the funeral home.  He will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery of Jefferson.
