Anna Marie Foltz Obituary

Anna Marie Endl Foltz, 92, of Burlington, but living in Fort Atkinson, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2023.

She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 25, 1930 , the daughter of Peter Simon & Anna Frances (Sauer) Vogt.  Her parents moved from Pittsburgh to Lyons, WI.  There, she went to school and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Burlington.  She then went on and graduated from Cardinal Stritch College.  After school, she moved to Jefferson, WI to work as a teacher at St. Colletta.  It was during  this time she met Robert Endl Jr.  They were married on January 6, 1951.  Together with Robert, they had four children, David, Peter, Andy and Mary.  Anna Marie was a home maker and raised her family while acting as the business manager and accountant for the family business, Endl Painting.  Anna Marie and Robert divorced in 1985.  She went on to become a respected office worker known for her attention to detail at Countryside Home, and also worked part time doing taxes at H&R Block.  During this time, while attending her High School class reunion, she was reunited with a friend she had dated in high school, Richard Foltz.  They were married on October 11, 1986 and lived in Burlington, WI where Dick had established his law practice.  Anna Marie always said the years she spent with Dick were like a twelve year honeymoon.  They enjoyed a relationship rich with love, respect, faith, companionship, laughter, travel, and they were constantly surrounded by family and friends.  Their activities together included;  a passion for UW Wisconsin Badger Football games, taking their family to DisneyWorld, and traveling, which included exploring the United States, Canada, Europe, Virgin Gorda and taking a cruise.  Anna Marie’s hobbies included running when she was younger, and running with her granddaughters in races.  She was especially proud of winning a gold medal at the Senior Olympics. She also loved acting in plays, bowling with friends at leagues, working on crossword puzzles, dressing in costumes (especially at Halloween for the residents at Countryside Home), singing in the church choir, putting together puzzles either alone, or with a group of friends, or doing Words with Friends where she connected with a lady from South Africa.  The two stayed connected for ten years.  Because of her intense love of Disney, she was known to some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as the ‘Mickey Mouse’ Grandma.

She is survived by her children David (Barbara) Endl, Ann Robinson, Peter (Roxanne) Endl, Andy (Helen) Endl, Dan (Sue) Foltz, and Mary (Donald) Acketz.  She is also survived by her grandchildren; Melissa, Jennifer, Rebecca, Nathan, Michael, Allison, Lauren, Eric, Madeline, and Samuel and her great-grandchildren; Lillian, Abigail, Grayson, Abraham, Marlowe, Avery, Benson, Samson, Bailey, Leo, with her newest great-grandchild arriving in January.  Anna Marie is also survived by her younger brother, Lawrence (Delores) Vogt, Sister-in-Laws Betty Schmaling, and Sharon Endl along with many nieces and nephews.

Anna Marie is preceeded in death by her parents, husband, Dick Foltz, and sister Mary Margaret Curran.
