Robert J. Kober

Robert J. Kober, 74 of Jefferson, died on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Marquardt Village of Watertown.

Bob was born on August 23, 1944 in Sheboygan, WI, the son of David and Molly (Eirich) Kober.  He was a 1962 graduate of Sheboygan South High School and married Dawn Neese on August 22, 1964.  Bob and Dawn were crowned Gemuetlichkeit King and Queen in 1983.  He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1989, and even though this was a disappointment, Bob always kept a positive attitude.  He enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid Detroit Lions fan.  Bob had a servant’s heart and served on the board of directors with Society’s Assets and also as Chair of Community Relations.  Bob was the Secretary, Treasurer, and Sexton of Greenwood Cemetery since 1994.  He loved to go fishing with his grandson.  Bob was a Christian man who studied Scripture, did his devotions and prayed daily.  Bob’s loving, generous spirit and willingness to help was cherished by those that knew him.  Bob Kober was a good man who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by: his wife Dawn Kober of Jefferson; children Kevin (Marilyn) Kober of Arlington, WI, and Jodi (Greg) Jansen of Fort Atkinson, grandchildren Ashley (Max) John, Kelsey (Tyler Benzine) Kober, Hayden Jansen, and Aleece Jansen; great-granddaughter Skylar John and one on the way; siblings Marilyn (Ronald) Dekarske of Sarasota, FL, William (Roxie) Kober of Jefferson, Thomas (Dora) Kober of Janesville,  Sherry Baalke of Sheboygan, Gary (Karen) Kober of Winchester, VA, and Linda (Wayne) Theil of Sheboygan.  Bob is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ronald and Mark.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you the to staff of Marquardt Village and Hospice for the loving care provided.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Jefferson with Rev. Matt Krenke presiding. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church.  He will be buried at Greenwood Cemetery of Jefferson following the service.
