Michael A. Bubolz, 72 of Jefferson, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 10, 2018 at his home.
Mike was born on October 29, 1946 in Marshfield, WI, the son of Clarence and Shirley (Peterson) Bubolz. His parents purchased a tavern in Helenville and moved there when Mike was a kid. He was a 1965 graduate of Jefferson High School and joined the US Air Force shortly after graduation. On January 10, 1970, he married Barbara Kornstedt at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Jefferson. Mike worked as a meat stuffer at Doskocil for 26 years. He loved to fish and hunted and golfed in his younger years. He enjoyed playing cards, gambling and buying scratch-off lottery tickets. Mike was a man of few words, a very hard worker, and a lover of cookies. His faith was strong and enduring, not only in God, but also the Packers and the Brewers. Mike loved to prod and tease the people he cared about, and they loved him for it. Michael A. Bubolz was a good man and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by: his wife Barb of Jefferson; children Tonya Bubolz of St. Petersburg, FL, Ross (Nicole) Bubolz of Largo, FL, and Tara (Michael) Swiger of Steubenville, OH; 12 grandchildren Vallene (Brandon), Jolene, Sunshine, Kennedy (Nick), Sterling, Micah, Simon, Salome, Avery, Anika , Thaddeus, and Trason; 3 great-grandsons Peter, Jackson, and Will; siblings Kaye (Erv), Marge (Arvin), Jack, Tom (Candy), Bob (Marcia), Gary (Mary), and Lori (Gaylin). Mike is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Kurt (2006) and his sister Patricia in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00AM on Friday, December 14, 2018 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church of Jefferson with Fr. Tomas Coyle presiding. Visitation will be from 4:00PM – 7:00PM on Thursday at Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 7:00PM. Visitation also be held on Friday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church. Mike will be buried at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery following the mass.
