Gerald W. Volhard

Gerald W. Volhard, 78 of Fort Atkinson (formally of Whitewater), died on Friday March 15, 2019 at Dycora Transitional Health and Living of Fort Atkinson.

Gerald was born on December 13, 1940 in Wausau, WI, the son of Alois and Irene (Michalski) Volhard.  He attended the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater and earned an undergraduate degree in elementary education.  He went on the to earn a master’s degree in same field of study at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.  Gerald never married and was a teacher at Lincoln Elementary School of Whitewater for 25 years – retiring in 1996. 

Gerald is survived by a number of cousins, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside Catholic burial rite will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Hillside Cemetery of Whitewater with Fr. Tom Coyle presiding.
