Frederick F. Strieter, 87 of Sullivan, died on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at AngelsGrace Hospice Center of Oconomowoc.
Fred was born on April 21, 1932 in Pewaukee, WI, the son of Fred and Mary (Maile) Strieter. He graduated from Pewaukee High School in 1950 and joined the US Army soon after. He served his country during the Korean War and was discharged earning the rank of Sergeant. On April 24, 1965, Fred married Jill Goudreaux at Christ the King Church of Wauwatosa. The couple had 4 children and enjoyed 54 years of marriage. Fred was employed at Dynex/Rivett Inc. in Pewaukee and was proud to have employee ID number 001, retiring as supervisor after 38 years in 1992. Fred was a talented dancer and even earned a bronze medal in the Dance Olympics. Fred’s interests were vast, and he grew up farming. He loved collecting all sorts of things and attending nearly every auction and rummage sale. Woodworking and farm machinery were projects he worked on. “Farmer Fred” loved growing fall produce, especially pumpkins. He always kept himself busy. When asked what his plans were for retirement, Fred exclaimed, “All I want to do is help people.” Fred was a hardworking and warm man who was generous with his time and talents. He loved his family dearly and will be missed.
He is survived by: his wife Jill Strieter; children Dan (Kathy), Jenny (Scott), David, and Jason; 7 grandchildren; 2 brothers George (Sharron) and Robert (Ruth). He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents.
A private family memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
