Donald A. Guttenberg, 66 of Jefferson, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, December 28, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital of Madison.
Don was born on October 14, 1952 in Fort Atkinson, WI, the son of John and Edith (Smilie) Guttenberg. He was a 1970 graduate of Jefferson High School and on August 14, 1972, he married Patricia Penzkover. The couple had 4 children. Don worked as a CNC Machinist for many years, working at Arrow Inc. of Jefferson, Crepaco of Lake Mills, Bruno Independent Living Aids of Oconomowoc, and Foremost Buildings of Jefferson. Don loved to hunt and spend times outdoors. He was an avid Packer and Badger fan, and he rarely missed a game. He was a hard-working man and was a talented metal and wood-worker. He and Pat spent many days looking through flea markets and garage sales, searching for treasures. Don played Euchre, enjoyed gardening, and loved animals. Above all other interests, he cherished time spent with family and Don will be dearly missed.
He is survived by: his wife Pat of Jefferson; children Christopher (Martina) of Cibolo, TX, Daniel (Michelle) of Johnson Creek, and Scott of Jefferson; grandchildren Katharina, Viktoria, Jonathan, Andrew Paytin, Patience, Kyler, and Jeffrey; siblings Joseph (Sharon), Susan (Wayne) Frier, and Mark all of Jefferson. Don is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Donald Patrick in infancy, brothers James and Harris, and a sister Mary in infancy.
A Mass of Christin Burial will be held at 12:00PM on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Jefferson with Fr. Tom Coyle presiding. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church. He will be laid to rest at Rock River Cemetery.
