Donald F. Gadzinski

Donald F. Gadzinski, 77 of Jefferson, died peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center of Johnson Creek.

Don was born on November 25, 1940 in Manitowoc, WI, the son of Charles and Grace (Engelbrecht) Gadzinski.  He is a 1959 graduate of Lincoln High School of Manitowoc and served his country in the US Navy. On August 10, 1963 he married Mary Lynn Jindra in Two Rivers, WI and the couple had 2 daughters.  Don was an Agent with American Family for over 30 years, retiring in the mid 1990’s.  After retiring, Don and Lynn enjoyed traveling, spending time with grandchildren, and being with family.  He was an avid car collector and restorer.  He had a passion for art, design, and architecture – designing both his family home and the family vacation cottage.  He loved being on or near the water and was known for his generosity.  His family notes that Don was in the “business of helping people”, not just at the office, but at home and in the community also.  He was a protector and an encourager and did right by people.   Don was a man of great character and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by: his Wife Lynn of Jefferson; Daughters Andi (Jeff) Simmons of Lodi and Alee (Gregg) Gerke of Jefferson; Grandsons A.J. Simmons and Gabe Gerke; Siblings Marilyn Ansorge of Newton, WI, Alan, and Steve both of Manitowoc.  Don is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and Brother Gerald.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM on Friday, June 15, 2018 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Jefferson with Rev. Joshua Martin presiding.  Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00PM until the time of service at the church.
