Connie Zunker, of Whitewater, passed away at the age of 56.
Connie was born in West Allis on Oct. 9, 1962, to Donald Zunker, Sr. and Gayle Zunker. They moved to Blackhawk Island in 1973.
Connie married Steve Schoonover in 1983. While married, she lived in Georgia and Germany for a short period. Together with her brother Bryan, she owned Z’s Corner tavern from 1995 to 1998.
Connie enjoyed being a loving mother and grandmother most of all. She will be missed by many and forever in the hearts of her family.
Connie left behind three sisters, Laura (Pete) Kaczynski of Milwaukee, Debbie (Hank) Reyes of Milwaukee and Cindy (Brent) Keller of Watertown. She also left behind three children, Johnas Schoonover of Whitewater, Steven (Liz) Schoonover of Fort Atkinson and Stephanie (Joel) Kincaid of Whitewater. She has three grandchildren: Jayden, Kaydence and Emma, all of whom she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Donald Zunker Jr. and Bryan Zunker.
A short memorial service will be held at the American Legion Dugout in Fort Atkinson at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 15.
