Caroline Follensbee Obituary

Caroline Follensbee, 85 of Watertown (formally of Jefferson), died peacefully on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Park Terrace, Marquardt Village of Watertown.

Caroline was born on May 4, 1933 in Milwaukee, to Edwin and Edna (Samp) Rechlin and at the age of 13, became the daughter of loving parents Walter and Josephine Schumacher of Watertown.  She is a 1951 graduate of Watertown High School and on August 15, 1953 she married James G. Follensbee.  The couple lived in Jefferson most of their married life where Jim taught and coached, and Caroline worked as the Church Secretary at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.  Caroline was a golfer, avid shopper, and a competitive card player.  She was a dedicated, active, and long-time member of St. Mark’s.  Caroline was generous with her time and talents and made herself available when she was needed.  She was a caring lady who had a wonderful sense of humor and loved her family dearly.

Caroline is survived by: her husband of 65 years James Follensbee of Watertown; children Ronald (Brenda) of Lake Geneva, Robert (Ruth) of Oakdale, MN, Susan (Richard) Storey of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Mary (Steven) Schalig of Oconomowoc; grandchildren Nathan and Victoria Follensbee, Brady and Madeline Schalig.  Caroline is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Dorothy, Ruth, Shirley, Bill, Ray, and Marion, and grandson Eric Follensbee (2018).

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Marquardt Village for the loving care provided.

A funeral service will be held 11:00AM on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Jefferson with Rev. Rod Resheske presiding.  Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church.  Burial at Union Cemetery of Jefferson will follow the service.
