Camellia C. “Cissy” Haney, 75 of Jefferson, died peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2019 at her home with her family by her bedside.
Cissy was born on August 19, 1943 in Ashland, KY, the daughter of William and Della (Thompson) Green. She attended UW-Whitewater, studying English and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1975, she married Henry Haney and together the couple had 13 children in total. Cissy’s motherly and caring personality worked perfectly for her professionally and she was employed for many years as a Personal Care Giver at Countryside (now Alden Estates) of Jefferson. She is remembered for her funny, loving and spunky personality. She was a generous lady who loved pleasing others with thoughtful gifts. Not only was she a dear mother to her children, but to many others as well. Cissy was a strong, very able, and fiercely independent woman who loved animals. She was confident in her ability to fulfill her responsibilities and help others in need. Her family will miss her dearly and are comforted by her memory - knowing that she was “so proud of all her children.”
Cissy is survived by: her children Henry (Susan), Randy (Chong), Cheryl (Charles), Terri (Don), Enid, Vance (Anne), Bill (Patricia), Maria (Mark), Jeff, Liz (Terry), Peter (Dalee), Nicole (Mike); 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; siblings Clyde “Buddy” Green, Larry Green, Linda (Johnny) Cooper, Theresa Seymour, Susan (Kraemer) Haney; and her beloved cats Max and Missy. She also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Andrew in infancy, and siblings James Green, Robert Green, Stanley Green, and Lea Green.
A friends and family gathering will be held from 4:00PM-7:00PM on Friday, June 21, 2019 at the Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home of Jefferson. She will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery of Jefferson after a private family graveside service.
